microneedling
what is microneedling?Microneedling is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment designed to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and enhance overall skin quality. Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses sterile, ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process activates the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production and improving skin texture and tone over time.
Our treatments are fully customizable and may be enhanced with regenerative therapies such as PRFM, Rejuran®, PDGF+ and exosomes for optimal results.
-
Microneedling is commonly used to improve:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne scars and textural irregularities
Enlarged pores
Uneven skin tone
Sun damage
Skin laxity
Overall skin quality and radiance
Microneedling may be done on areas such as:
face
neck
chest
hands
stretch marks and scars
-
Depending on your goals, microneedling may be combined with:
PRFM for enhanced regeneration
Growth factors (PDGF-BB) or stem cells to support collagen production
Exosome therapy for advanced cellular signaling
Medical-grade PDRN such as Rejuran® for hydration and repair
Dermaplaning to help exfoliate dead skin and velous hair for even better absorption of treatment boosters and amplification of post treatment glow

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, tone, and overall quality.
-
Microneedling works by triggering the skin’s repair process. The micro-channels created during treatment stimulate collagen production and enhance the absorption of topical serums or regenerative therapies, such as PRP, PRFM, or growth factors, leading to smoother, firmer, and healthier skin.
-
Good candidates are adults looking to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and mild skin laxity. Microneedling is safe for most skin types and tones. Schedule a consultation to determine if microneedling is appropriate for your skin concerns.
-
Results develop gradually as collagen builds over time. Many patients complete a series of 3–6 treatments spaced several weeks apart. Results can last several months to a year, with maintenance treatments recommended to sustain improvements.
-
Downtime is minimal to moderate. Most patients experience redness, mild swelling, and sensitivity similar to a sunburn for 24–72 hours. Light flaking or dryness may occur as the skin heals. Microneedling enhancements significantly decrease healing time.
-

Excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs, sun exposure) for 48 hours
Makeup and active skincare products (retinoids, acids) for 24–48 hours
Direct sun exposure; use broad-spectrum sunscreen once allowed
-
Discomfort is minimal. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to improve comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as pressure or light scratching.
-
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and active skincare products for several days before treatment. Stay well hydrated and arrive with clean skin. Follow any specific pre-treatment instructions provided during your consultation.

Your treatment begins with a consultation to assess your skin and goals. After cleansing and numbing the skin, a microneedling device is passed over the treatment area. A soothing serum or regenerative treatment may be applied afterward. At ION, we offer complimentary collagen eye patches and sheet masls post treatment. The procedure typically takes 45–60 minutes, with continued skin improvement over the following weeks.
