At your appointment, your injector will discuss your goals and assess how many units of wrinkle relaxer will offer your desired effect. Then, using small needles, the wrinkle relaxer is precisely injected into the muscles. At ION, we take a comprehensive approach to facial aesthetics.   • There is virtually no downtime after a Botox treatment. you may experience “botox bumps” or mild swelling and redness at the injection sites for a few minutes after the treatment. These bumps go away after 5-20 minutes. Bruising is less likely with a Botox treatment, however bruises may still occur. We recommend taking arnica before and after your treatment to limit bruising.

  • After your Botox treatment, avoid inverting your head or laying down completely flat for 4 hours after your treatment. You should avoid alcohol and strenuos exercise for 12 hours after your treatment. We also recommend avoiding facials, face-down massages and saunas for one week after your treatment.

  • Yes! Botox treatments are most effective when you remain consistent. Schedule your next appointment 3-4 months after your treatment. this will ensure that you prevent the wrinkles from getting deeper.

  • To prepare for your Botox treatment, avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol and taking pain killers including Advil, Tylenol, and Aspirin 2 days before your treatment. These substances have a mild blood thinning effect and may slightly increase your chances of bruising. We also recommend refraining from supplements such as Vitamin E and fish oil 2 days prior to your treament.

  • Botox treatment cost depends on multiple factors including how many units you need for successful results and the brand of neurotoxin used. Many neurotoxins have similar effectiveness. You can speak with your provider to determine which neurotoxin is the right fit for you.
