kybella®
what is kybella?Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to permanently reduce unwanted fat beneath the chin and along the jawline. Kybella® is an injectable formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb dietary fat. When injected into targeted areas, Kybella® destroys fat cells, which are then gradually eliminated by the body.
Once fat cells are destroyed, they cannot return—making Kybella®, a permanent fat-reduction solution when combined with a healthy lifestyle.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to permanently reduce unwanted fat. It is made from deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps break down and absorb dietary fat. Kybella® is most commonly used to treat submental fat (the “double chin”), but may also be used in other small areas of localized fat.
-
Kybella® works by destroying fat cells in the treated area. Once injected, the deoxycholic acid breaks down fat cell membranes, and the body naturally eliminates the destroyed fat cells over time. Once these fat cells are gone, they do not return.
-
Yes, Kybella® is FDA-approved and considered safe when administered by a trained and experienced medical professional. As with any injectable treatment, there are potential risks and side effects, which will be reviewed during your consultation.
-
Good candidates are adults with moderate to full localized fat who want a non-surgical option for fat reduction. Ideal patients have good skin elasticity and are close to their goal weight. A consultation is required to determine if Kybella® is the right treatment for you.
